We're looking for an experienced and strategic Director of Engineering to lead the Seller Tools engineering organization, a newly formed, autonomous group within our Commerce organization. Our mission is to help entrepreneurs build, launch and grow their business and each of the teams under you will be an important contributor in leading our strategy forward.
We are looking for leaders with a solid technical foundation plus experience structuring healthy organizations that encourage collaborations across multiple disciplines. You'll influence technical decision-making, guide prioritization and execution, while managing engineers and engineering managers.
Based in Dublin, you will oversee multiple teams dedicated to building products and shape the direction of our Seller Tools and ensure their delivery.You'll help shape the culture and growth of our engineering site, being an important member of the local leadership team.
This is a hybrid role working from our Dublin office 3 days per week. You will report to the Senior Director of Commerce based in NYC.
You'll Get To…
* Lead the technical strategy and build a multi-year roadmap for Seller Tools in partnership with Product and Design.
* Lead and scale engineering teams across frontend, backend, and full-stack disciplines.
* Recruit and develop top talent, building a diverse organization.
* Promote collaboration across Commerce, Websites, and Platform teams to build reusable components and accelerate value delivery.
* Foster development by balancing experimentation with sound engineering practices.
* As a Senior Leader in Dublin you will contribute to site-wide programs and alignment.
* Guide the evaluation and adoption of GenAI platforms (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source LLMs) across digital experiences.
Who We're Looking For
* 12+ years in engineering leadership roles, including experience managing people managers and multi engineering teams
* Experience managing 20+ engineers across multiple geographies (e.g., US and Ireland).
* Expertise building customer-facing and developer-facing products.
* Can recruit and grow frontend and backend engineers.
* Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners, with the ability to align team members across technical and non-technical functions.
* Experience building solutions with MACH architecture principles - Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, and Headless, and with cloud technologies like GCP, AWS, Azure.
* Thrives in dynamic environments, effectively navigating shifting priorities and evolving roadmaps.
* Familiarity with experimentation platforms and agile development processes.
* Passion for internal platform capabilities and improving developer productivity.
