Job: Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist – Orthopaedic Inpatient Service
Location: Dublin
Salary: Aligned with the HSE Payscales with excellent benefits
Contract: Full‑time, Permanent Monday – Friday.

Excel Recruitment are recruiting a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist to join a leading Orthopaedic Inpatient Service within one of Ireland's most progressive private hospitals. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled physiotherapist to take on a specialist clinical and leadership role?

You will be joining a high performing team committed to delivering exceptional patient care in an environment that prioritises quality, respect, compassion, and continuous improvement.

About the Physiotherapy Department:

You will join a 25 person Physiotherapy team within a modern Allied Therapy Department. The service supports multiple specialties including Orthopaedics, Oncology, ICU, Cardiothoracic, and Emergency Medicine. Therapists benefit from:

3. Sports medicine equipment including Isokinetic Dynamometry
4. Strong links with University College Dublin for teaching and research
5. Supportive leadership from the Manager

Key Responsibilities

6. Lead, coordinate and deliver an efficient Orthopaedic Inpatient Physiotherapy Service.
7. Develop and enhance service quality through evidence‑based operational procedures.
8. Stay up to date with advancements in clinical practice, technology, and research.
9. Contribute to clinical audit, research, CPD, and service development initiatives.
10. Represent physiotherapy in internal and external committees and interest groups.
11. Contribute to the leadership and development of the wider Physiotherapy Service.
12. Promote a positive workplace culture through open communication and collaboration.
13. Participate in staff induction, in‑service training, and appraisal processes.
14. Maintain accurate clinical records and statistics in line with legal and organisational requirements.
15. Assist in policy development, guideline updates, and quality accreditation activities.
16. Liaise with orthopaedic consultant surgeons to support high‑quality patient care.

Essential Requirements:

17. Degree in Physiotherapy.
18. CORU Registration (essential).
19. Membership of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists.
20. Extensive post‑graduate physiotherapy experience in orthopaedics (essential).
21. Demonstrated clinical and academic achievement in a specialist physiotherapy field.
22. Postgraduate qualification in Orthopaedics/Trauma (desirable).
23. Advanced clinical reasoning for elective orthopaedic caseloads.
24. Strong evidence‑based practice, outcome measurement, and assessment skills.
25. Experience in research, quality improvement and service innovation.
26. Leadership capabilities with strong understanding of clinical service planning.
27. Ability to balance clinical demands with service development responsibilities.
