Job Summary

The role of Senior Automation Equipment Engineer is to provide expert support for both new and existing manufacturing equipment, focusing on automation and continuous improvement to achieve production goals (quality, delivery, cost, and safety).

This position requires a high level of technical expertise in various automation systems, including PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, etc.), HMIs, vision systems, robotics, PC software, and databases.

The ideal candidate will have experience in generating detailed specifications, design, development, and testing documentation for new equipment and automated systems, as well as applying expertise in various automation systems.


Key Responsibilities

1. Documentation Generation: Develop comprehensive documentation for new equipment and automated systems, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
2. System Knowledge: Utilize expertise in PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, robotics, PC software, and databases to develop and apply automation solutions.
3. Troubleshooting: Analyze, understand, and resolve complex issues with automated equipment.
4. Code Management: Develop, test, and install code changes to existing equipment under strict change control procedures.
5. Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and meet quality standards.
6. Optimization: Identify and implement equipment and system upgrades to drive continuous improvement programs.
7. Compliance: Ensure compliance with EHS standards and all quality system requirements.


Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

* An Honours Bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Software, or a related Engineering discipline.
* At least 5+ years of relevant experience in automation systems and automated production equipment within a manufacturing environment.
* Essential skills and qualifications include expertise in PLCs, HMIs, vision systems, robotics, PC software, and databases.
