Practice Supervisor Location: Co. Clare Role Overview The Practice Supervisor plays a key role in developing and maintaining the clinical, professional, and practical standards of Health and Social Care Assistants. This role focuses on supervision, support, quality assurance, and best practice delivery, while also providing operational and administrative support to the wider team. The Practice Supervisor does not hold formal line management responsibility and will escalate all employee relations or performance issues to the Clinical Nurse Manager or nominated deputy. Key Responsibilities Provide scheduled and unannounced practice supervision visits across a variety of care settings Supervise and support care assistants to ensure high standards of care delivery Monitor, assess, and provide feedback on care assistant performance and practice Maintain accurate supervision records, reports, and documentation Escalate any performance, behavioural, quality, or operational concerns to the CNM promptly Participate in care delivery as part of the supervision process and, in exceptional circumstances, provide direct care when required Support CNM with care plan assessments and care plan reviews Monitor staff training, compliance, and continued professional development (CPD) Ensure all policies, procedures, safeguarding requirements, GDPR, and health & safety standards are adhered to Liaise professionally with customers, family members, care coordinators, healthcare professionals, and statutory services Act as a customer advocate and safeguard the interests of customers at all times Assist with audits and ensure compliance across customer and staff files Prepare reports as required Participate in the on-call Bluebird Care emergency phone rota Operational & Administrative Support Act as backup to the Care Coordinator, with familiarity in staff rostering Assist with office administration duties as required Support the recruitment process, including onboarding and compliance checks Qualifications QQI/FETAC Level 5 Major Award in Health Care Skills (Essential) QQI Level 6 Supervisory Management (Essential or willingness to complete) Certain exemptions may apply Computer literacy and administrative skills (Desirable) Risk assessment knowledge (Desirable) Experience Minimum of two years' experience in the care sector (Desirable) Core Skills & Competencies (Essential) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong organisational and delegation skills Ability to teach, mentor, supervise, and support care staff High standard of record keeping and report writing Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations Professional appearance, punctuality, and attention to detail Strong customer-focused approach Clean full driving licence Skills: Management Clare Healthcare HCA
