Operations & Maintenance Technician
As an O&M Technician you will be assigned ownership of certain water and wastewater treatment plants, ensuring the quality and quantity of treated water is within specification and that each site’s facilities and processes are operated and maintained as required.
You will work as part of a rota system, share out-of-hours coverage, and report via the Site Reporting App to your O&M Project Manager.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Take ownership and responsibility for allocated water and wastewater treatment plant facilities, ensuring standards of quality and cleanliness are upheld.
Perform daily, weekly, monthly, and other periodic operation and maintenance checks to ensure the quality and quantity of treated water meets specifications.
Complete grounds maintenance activities including grass cutting, cleaning and facilities maintenance.
Carry a lone working device and use it as per the specific operating procedure.
Visit each site regularly, filling a site visit report on the Site Reporting App.
Welcome visitors, provide induction on first visit, and record visits on the Site Reporting App.
Conduct a walkthrough of the site, visually inspecting all areas of the plant and treatment process, and record tasks in the Site Reporting App.
Respond to critical alarms to ensure water and wastewater treatment output is maintained.
Conduct and record process adjustments as required to ensure treated water and wastewater outputs meet the required standard.
Complete a weekly HSQE walkthrough of each plant and submit the Weekly HSQE Checklist for Operations.
Assist with the delivery of the Capital Replacement Fund (CRF) projects where applicable.
Show an eagerness to learn and progress in your career and mentor and train junior staff.
Perform other duties as required from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience in water or wastewater plant operations is desirable.
An interest in developing a career within an industry-leading organisation.
Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.
Ability to engage with suppliers and subcontractors at procurement stage and during contract delivery.
Ability to use own initiative, problem-solve and adjust as issues arise during O&M activities.
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong communication skills and a high level of motivation.
Full driving licence.
