We are seeking an experienced site supervisor to join our team in Galway.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate site operatives and subcontractors to ensure work is delivered safely, on time, and to the required standard.
Understand and comply with the company's Safety Statement and ensure operatives under your control do the same.
Ensure compliance with HSE/HSA legislation and other relevant statutory requirements.
Review, brief, and contribute to the preparation of RAMS (Risk Assessments & Method Statements), selecting appropriate construction methodologies.
Plan and oversee works to ensure safe systems of work are implemented at all times.
Induct new employees, apprentices, and young workers—ensuring they understand site rules, safe working practices, and safety precautions.
Enforce health & safety standards on-site, preventing unsafe practices, unnecessary risks, and unsafe behavior (e.g., horseplay).
Immediately report any plant/equipment defects or site accidents (no matter how minor).
Set a strong personal example by adhering to safety rules, wearing PPE, and following best practices.
Identify potential hazards, suggest improvements, and contribute to continuous improvement of safety and environmental procedures.
Temporarily assume Site Engineer duties regarding health, safety, and environmental matters in their absence.
Remain familiar with company QA and environmental management systems.
Monitor project costs, variations, and change orders to assess their impact on program delivery, manpower, and budget.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years' relevant construction experience on similar projects, with a strong focus on safety and quality performance.
Proven ability to work safely, efficiently, and in line with environmental best practices.
Strong working knowledge of HSE/HSA legislation and construction site safety standards.
Full, clean Irish/EU driving licence.
Authorised to work in Ireland (Stamp 4 visa or Critical Skills Permit if applicable)
