We are currently seeking a Capital Projects Specialist to join our team at a leading FMCG site in Waterford. This is a 12-month contract position, offering an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-performing capital project function.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver various building services projects from initiation to handover, including heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), lighting, chilled water, purified water, and electrical systems. Each project must adhere to company quality standards.
* Manage all environmental health and safety requirements throughout the full life cycle of each project.
* Develop user requirements for systems by engaging with operations, environmental health and safety, maintenance, utilities, technical, and quality teams to ensure proposed solutions are suitable.
* Lead constructability reviews, design reviews, and risk assessments during the design phase.
* Identify project issues and develop mitigation plans.
* Provide input into IFM/IFC packages and assist with the procurement process.
* Supervise and manage contractors throughout the construction stage.
* Participate in engineering team initiatives as required.
* Ensure projects are delivered in line with company quality, engineering, and EHS standards.
Requirements:
* 8+ years' experience in project engineering or management with a degree in building services engineering or a related discipline.
* Chartered Engineer qualification is an advantage but not essential.
* NEBOSH International Construction Safety (or equivalent) is an advantage but not essential.
* Experience delivering projects of a similar type and scale within a regulated environment.
* Strong understanding and application of engineering principles, industry practices, and standards.
* Ability to resolve moderately complex problems and identify deviations from accepted practice.
* Knowledge and application of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs).
