Home Care Manager
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate professional to provide best practice dementia-specific care to clients in their homes.
Main Responsibilities:
* Oversee, coordinate, and support the work of home care workers assigned to you.
* Coordinate recruitment and ensure all employees receive appropriate induction and ongoing training needs are periodically reviewed and actioned.
* Ensure fair and consistent application of policies and procedures as applicable to the home care service.
* Conduct regular performance reviews with staff and deal with breaches of policy, disciplinary or grievance matters in a timely manner.
* Hold regular individual and group staff meetings to discuss performance, service enhancements, client welfare, and operational matters.
* Schedule and issue the home care staff roster on a weekly/monthly basis based on individual client needs and service efficiency.
* Maintain accurate records for carers, including pay, leave, and travelling expenses.
* Prepare, certify, and approve pay sheets and expenses for home care workers.
* Allocate a temporary home care worker when necessary.
* Establish good communication between home care workers and family carers.
* Liaise with the home care coordinator for staff cover on client referrals.
* Attend training courses, conferences, and meetings with the operations manager as required.
Requirements:
* A standard education enabling you to discharge post duties satisfactorily.
* Previous experience working in a caring environment, preferably caring for people with dementia, older people, or those with learning disabilities.
* Experience managing people or a service is essential.
* At least 5 years' post qualification experience in the health/social care or voluntary sector.
* Knowledge of the voluntary sector, older people issues, and dementia.
* Clean full driver's license.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Registered Nurse with An Bord Altranais or equivalent social care qualification.
* Management experience in a similar role.
