We are looking for an experienced
Procurement Supply Chain Manager
to join our dynamic team at a leading manufacturing company based in Tipperary.
In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end supply chain and procurement functions, ensuring seamless operations and cost-effective material sourcing.
You will work closely with various departments, including production, logistics, and finance, to optimize supply chain performance and ensure a smooth flow of goods from suppliers to the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Supply Chain Management:
Oversee the entire supply chain process, from the procurement of raw materials and components to product delivery.
Develop and implement supply chain strategies that align with the company's business goals.
Manage inventory control, logistics, and distribution to ensure minimal stockouts and optimal warehouse management.
Continuously improve supply chain processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and scalability.
Collaborate with production and planning teams to forecast material requirements and ensure that supply meets production needs.
Develop accurate demand forecasts and manage the flow of materials to avoid stockouts, overstocking, and production delays.
Procurement Management
Lead the sourcing and procurement of materials, goods, and services for production, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and on-time delivery.
Establish strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favourable terms, pricing, and contracts.
Maintain a thorough understanding of market trends and supplier capabilities to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
Manage procurement budgeting, monitoring, and reporting to ensure alignment with overall financial goals.
Develop and maintain long-term partnerships with key suppliers to secure favourable contracts and ensure a reliable supply of materials.
Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, lead times, and service levels.
Conduct supplier evaluations, audits, and performance reviews to ensure they meet the company's standards.
Ensure all procurement and supply chain activities are in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
Logistics Distribution Oversight
Coordinate logistics activities, including inbound deliveries, warehousing, and outbound shipments.
Optimize transportation methods and routes to minimize costs while ensuring timely deliveries.
Work with logistics partners and internal teams to ensure the smooth flow of products from suppliers to the production facility and beyond.
Continuous Improvement Process Optimization
Implement process improvements and technology solutions to enhance the efficiency of the supply chain and procurement operations.
Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining high levels of quality and service.
Identify opportunities for automation and digitalization in supply chain operations to streamline workflows.
Required Qualifications Experience
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
A relevant professional certification (e.g., CIPS, APICS, etc.) is an advantage.
Experience
At least 5 years of experience in supply chain management and procurement, with a minimum of 2 years in a managerial or leadership role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong experience in managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and leading procurement activities.
Proven ability to manage inventory levels and logistics operations in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
