The Position
The AI Auditor will conduct independent audits of AI models and systems for clients, assessing risks and compliance with the EU Digital Services Act, AI Act, and other relevant regulations. This role requires a deep technical understanding of AI technologies, including content moderation systems, recommendation systems, advertising systems, detection systems (fake, misinformation, anomaly, etc.). The auditor will also perform compliance gap analyses and risk assessments to identify potential ethical (e.g. fairness, transparency, provenance) and regulatory issues associated with AI deployment.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct independent audits of client AI models and systems to evaluate compliance with applicable legislation and ethical standards.
* Conduct risk assessments to identify systemic and non-systemic risks associated with AI technologies, including fairness, transparency, and accountability.
* Perform compliance gap analyses to identify discrepancies between current practices and regulatory requirements or best practices in AI ethics.
* Analyse end to end AI pipeline including governance, risk management framework, data used for training and at inference time (inc. data provenance, privacy, biases, integrity, fairness, etc.), model training, algorithm selection, model selection, testing, deployment and ongoing monitoring to ensure compliance with regulations and ethical practices in AI systems design, development and deployment.
* Prepare detailed audit reports for clients, highlighting findings, compliance gaps, risks, and actionable recommendations for improvement.
* Stay updated on advancements in AI technologies and changes in relevant legislation and regulations.
* Provide expert guidance to clients on best practices for developing and deploying AI models that adhere to ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with clients to develop tailored audit plans that address their specific needs and compliance challenges.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Machine Learning, or a related technical field; MSc degree preferred.
* Experience in auditing or evaluating AI systems, machine learning models, or compliance roles with a strong technical focus. Understanding of risks, controls and auditing principles.
* In-depth understanding of AI technologies, including generative AI, recommendation algorithms, and content moderation systems.
* Good skills in Python or R
* Familiarity with data ethics principles, including fairness, transparency, and data provenance.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex AI systems and data practices.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
* Ability to work independently and maintain objectivity in client engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with technology auditing, gap analysis and risk assessment related to AI technologies and data compliance.
* Knowledge of ethical AI frameworks and best practices in AI governance.
* Familiarity with content moderation tools, advertising systems, and their regulatory implications.
