Overview
The Senior Engineer manages the engineering function as the senior representative, coordinates with the line manager and provides Engineering Leadership for their project(s). Sets the strategy for Engineering, onsite control, along with the Engineer/Assistant Engineer and subordinates/supply chain. Acts as the primary reference for QA, record keeping and production, ensuring the establishment and maintenance of the Sisk Quality procedures and requirements. Also takes responsibility for Temporary Works Control/Coordination and, where required, actively manages lifting operations.
Responsibilities
Manage and lead the Engineering Project team
Understand key tolerances and analyse details across several interfaces to highlight potential problems
Competent in the principles of quality control for packages. Review and create Inspection & Test Plans. Display advanced knowledge of key packages such as concrete, drainage, external works, steelwork, flooring, facades and cleanrooms
Have awareness of project specifications, in particular tolerances for vertical and horizontal structural elements
Control the components of the SISK Non-Conformance procedure. Create and close out Non-Conformances. Understand the cost of defects and remedial works. Work actively to close out NCRs in a timely manner
Knowledge and awareness of permit systems
Review and create method statements and risk assessments
Identify missing information and have a good working knowledge of the project RFI process, including technical submittals
Awareness around lifting operations and appointment of trained personnel
Awareness around temporary works - TWC/TWS trained
Lead site meetings and client interface experience
Experience coordinating design teams
Understand the dangers of underground services and the risk control procedures required
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Competent in the use of digital information systems (e.g., A-Site, Dalux, Viewpoint for Projects)
Significant experience in the design management process
Broad technical exposure in Pharmaceutical CSA and ME; Civil Engineering
Temporary Works Coordinator training
Lifting operations awareness / Appointed Persons / CPCS
Scaffold awareness/inspection
Planning and programming software
Qualifications & Skills
SMSTS/SSSTS Card (UK), MSIC (Ireland)
