Job Title: Sales Manager Responsible to: General Manager Main Purpose of Job:We are currently recruiting for an experienced Sales Manager to join Connolly Motor Group team, within the Sales team at Mercedes-Benz, Sligo. The successful candidate will be required to ensure the team continuously deliver the highest level of satisfaction to internal and external customers. This will require you to ensure the company business plan is met via the sale of vehicles, finance and insurance products. To ensure that the margins achieved on the sale of all dealership products are in line with manufacturer standards. To ensure that the sales team delivers the highest standard of service and that every opportunity is taken to continuously improve working methods and standards. Role Responsibilities:Strategically set's objectives and reviews sales and performance reviews whilst identifying future trendsFormulates and communicates sales targets to each executiveMonitors departmental performance against the budget.Devise and agree sales schedules for the sales team to generate business – on a daily/weekly/monthly basisConstantly reviews and manages dealership costsOversees sales by ensuring prospecting and follow up activities are conducted by the Sales TeamActively prospect for new customers by cold calling, emails and use of appropriate databasesFollows the sales process, designed to achieve maximum results from the available sales opportunitiesQualify customer needs and present the dealerships products and servicesEnsures stock turn on new and used cars is adhered to, by review of and if necessary, revaluing used carsPlans and implements marketing strategies with the marketing departmentAssist HR with employment relations, recruitment & selection and people agenda queriesMonitors the performance of the sales team, using key measures and addressing areas of under performanceConducts regular meetings and updates on any changes with teamUnderstands and complies with all appropriate sales legislation and procedures relevant to Dealership departmentsMaintain a high level of contact with internal and external customers, suppliers and manufacturerIdentify and resolve dissatisfied customer's issues in a professional and empathetic mannerEnsure vehicle valuations to customers are accurate as provided by the sales teamMaintain up to date knowledge about manufacturer's vehicles, market trends and their impactEnsure adequate resourcing of sales department is adequately staffed to achieve departmental objectivesComply and operate within Connolly Group Trade Disposal ProcessThe person:Skills and Competencies:Minimum of 5 years' experience in a Sales environment, additionally motor industry experience is beneficialThis role would be suitable for someone in a Senior Sales role looking to make the next step up in the career3 years' People Management experience is beneficialStrong communication skills with internal and external customers, suppliers and the manufacturerProficient in Microsoft Office Package (Word, Excel, Email)Build strong interdepartmental relationships, and pay close attention to the requirements of those departmentsPresent a consistently professional image through attitude, behaviour and personal appearanceContinuous improvement mindsetFull driving license is essential
