Job Title: Environmental Sustainability Officer
This is a critical role responsible for protecting environmental standards across the site and ensuring compliance with legislative, planning, and permit requirements.
About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and capable of working on their own initiative on a busy construction project.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Maintain a strong on-site presence through regular site visits, toolbox talks, inductions, and trainings.
* Carry out environmental compliance audits and inspections to identify potential risks and areas for improvement.
* Record and close out environmental incidents in a timely and effective manner.
* Enforce environmental requirements and best practices to ensure compliance.
* Conduct regular auditing of onsite waste management programmes to ensure they meet regulatory standards.
* Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of environmental management processes and procedures for the project.
* Review and verify environmental documentation (CEMPs, RAMS, method statements) to ensure risks are identified and managed.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in environmental science or a related discipline.
* A minimum of two years' experience in an environmental role, preferably with experience in construction environmental compliance auditing.
* Strong understanding of Irish environmental legislation and permitting requirements.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable liaising with clients, contractors, and other team members on a day-to-day basis.
