About The Team
Our Transport Infrastructure team in Ireland is over 170 strong, spread across all our 5 offices. Our team delivers all projects in-house, focusing on key transport areas like bridges, civils, geotechnical, geometry, sustainability, traffic, road safety, and asset management. We work on notable projects such as Killaloe Bypass & Shannon Bridge Crossing, Navan Rail Line upgrade, and Dublin Metrolink. What You Will Be Doing
The Senior Project Engineer in Transport will work on designing and delivering transport infrastructure projects such as roads, civil infrastructure, and sustainable transport including rail, greenways, active travel, asset management, and safety, from inception through planning, design, and construction.
The Senior Project Engineer Will
* Prepare designs and reports appropriate to experience level at all project stages.
* Ensure compliance with RPS quality and management procedures.
* Motivate oneself, take ownership of issues, and seek team participation for the best solutions.
* Be willing to learn and develop.
* Work in a collaborative Level 2 BIM environment.
* Understand project management objectives.
* Engage with clients and design teams for project delivery.
* Support business growth by strengthening relationships and expanding into new markets.
* Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.
* Pursue continuous professional development and maintain high discipline knowledge.
Who We Are Looking For
* Extensive experience in designing transport projects, including roads, rail, and public transport.
* Experience in Active Travel and Greenway projects.
* Experience across design and construction phases, including Design & Build.
* Knowledge of Irish and UK standards (NTA, TII, DMRB).
* Experience working on various project phases from options to construction.
* Client liaison experience.
* Contract documentation experience is advantageous.
* Ability to prepare 3D models using Civil 3D or OpenRoads and familiarity with Level 2 BIM.
* Experience with drainage design software like MicroDrainage; knowledge of HEC-RAS, Causeway Flow is a plus.
* Experience in highway drainage, culvert design, attenuation, pollution control, and catchment analysis.
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Leadership skills to motivate and guide teams, with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Extensive project management experience, including budgeting and forecasting.
Qualifications
* A Level 8 honours degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
* Ideally a Level 9 master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.
* Specialist qualifications in transport-related disciplines are advantageous.
* Chartered Engineer status or working towards it is preferred.
