Job Title: Advanced Nurse Practitioner (Care of the Older Adult)
The overall purpose of this post is to provide safe, timely and evidenced-based nurse-led care to service-users at an advanced nursing level.
Key Responsibilities:
* Undertake and document a complete episode of service-users care (assess, diagnose, plan, treat and discharge) according to collaboratively agreed protocols and scope of practice in the clinical setting.
* Demonstrate advanced clinical and theoretical knowledge, critical thinking, clinical leadership and decision-making skills.
Requirements:
1. Statutory Registration: Be a registered nurse/midwife on the active Register of Nurses and Midwives held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or be eligible to be so registered.
2. Professional Qualifications: Have a minimum of 5 years post-registration full-time experience or an aggregate of 5 years full-time experience in the division of Intellectual Disability.
3. Experience: Have at least three years of recent post-registration clinical experience, with one year of equivalent full-time experience in the specific area of practice.
4. Educational Preparation: Hold a Master's degree in nursing/midwifery or a Master's degree relevant to the advanced field of practice.
5. Continuing Professional Development: Demonstrate that they have continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to Care of the Older Adult (ID) or will be supported to obtain the required CPD.
6. Health and Character: Be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be of good character.
