Moorehall Lodge Ardee is seeking a full-time Homemaker (37.5 hrs) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be flexible and must have the ability to work weekdays and weekends as required.

Responsibilities
* Greeting and welcoming all visitors to the House.
* Creating meaningful events and activities for residents, planned and unplanned.
* Welcoming and assisting with planning meals, organizing and serving meals to residents in a person-centred way, showing flexibility and consideration of individual needs, preferences and choice.
* Maintaining residents’ fluid and food intake charts where necessary and informing the Nurse/Carer Lead of same.
* Liaising with the House team/catering on dietary changes and reporting changes in residents’ eating patterns to the Nurse/Carer Lead in the House.
* Maintaining a clean and tidy kitchenette and ensuring cleaning tasks are completed within duty.
* Ensuring kitchen cleanliness (dishes, floors, dining area) after meals.
* Keeping fridge clean, defrosted weekly, and disposing of out-of-date food, maintaining cooking appliances clean.
* Keeping all kitchenette areas clean and well maintained; ensuring equipment is clean and maintained; complying with infection control guidelines.
* Disinfecting food-contact surfaces and equipment; familiar with Moorehall Lodge Food Safety Policy, House Rules and cleaning schedules; completing relevant records.
* Ensuring cleaning cloths, tea towels and residents’ serviettes are laundered or replaced as needed.
* Securing cleaning agents and chemicals away from residents; ensuring the domestic laundry room is locked when not in use.
* Keeping connecting door to the kitchen closed at all times.
* Assuming additional responsibilities as directed by the Director of Care and/or Person in Charge.

* To respect privacy and dignity and promote confidentiality within a warm, homely setting.

* To represent Moorehall Lodge professionally in all communications with residents, visitors and staff.
* To comply with Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* To maintain confidentiality regarding residents and Moorehall Lodge.
* To contribute to the protection of vulnerable adults from abuse.
* To maintain high standards of cleanliness and tidiness within the household.
* To report ill-health, accidents or incidents involving residents to the Staff Nurse.
* To attend training days/courses as required and attend meetings as required.
* To complete documentation related to residents and communications clearly.
* To uphold the values of the household and report any damage or breakage of equipment.
* To support new staff members and volunteers; to carry out other reasonable duties as required.
