Senior Quantity Surveyor
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Dublin, working on residential projects in North Dublin.
Key Responsibilities:
* Report to the Regional / Managing Quantity Surveyor and have overall responsibility for all QS activity for the site.
* Liaise with internal cost planning team and external resources during project budget preparation stage.
* Manage and oversee cost management processes across the project, including compilation and validation of cost reports, cash flows, and CRM documentation.
* Evaluate and mitigate potential risks, promote a culture of early risk identification and management within the team.
* Present commercial packs to Senior Management Team on a monthly basis.
* Oversee procurement schedule, ensure scope accuracy for all subcontract packages, and manage payments to subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
* Drive a value-seeking mindset throughout the project team, promoting understanding of the difference between cost and value.
* Stay up-to-date with construction methods and technologies, encouraging continued professional development (CPD) within the project team.
* Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
* Prepare Part V submissions and negotiate agreements.
* Ensure timely completion of the monthly QS cycle on site.
* Lead and develop the project QS team.
* Collaborate with the Project Manager to deliver the project successfully.
Requirements:
* 7-10+ years of post-graduate experience in PQS or Contractors office.
* House building/residential experience is desirable.
* Knowledge of modern methods of construction and ability to work with various construction techniques.
* Achieve demanding time and quality targets.
* Proficiency in IT skills, including Cubit, Cost-ex, or equivalent, and Microsoft Office.
* Willingness to attend training and develop relevant knowledge, techniques, and skills.
* Strong analytical skills and ability to present findings.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken.
* Methodical approach, attention to detail, and accuracy.
* Good interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team.
* Self-motivated, able to work independently, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Will to accept overall project responsibility.
