Lead Electrical Engineer – PE Global
PE Global is recruiting for a Lead Electrical Engineer on behalf of a public sector client. This is an initial 12‑month contract role fully onsite at Wicklow.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the Safety Adviser and other project team members to ensure all works during the project comply with statutory safety, health and environmental regulations and internal Technical Standards & Guidelines.
Manage the main EPC electrical contract and other electrical contracts or work scopes assigned by the Project Manager.
Liaise with the Engineering & Major Projects (EMP) specialist team to deliver overhaul in line with defined protocols and procedures.
Support the implementation of Inspection & Test Plans for the electrical aspects of the scope of work in conjunction with the appropriate Competent Person / Asset Management Specialist.
Manage quality in accordance with responsibilities listed in the Project Quality Plan.
Day‑to‑day supervision and point of contact with contractors; review key ITP protocol sheets.
Work with and support the station Management and Maintenance teams during the course of the project.
Undertake regular safety, environment and quality audits during the overhaul.
Report on progress against schedule and attend various project meetings as deemed appropriate by the Project Manager.
Work with the Project Manager to control costs for assigned contracts.
Manage day‑to‑day work requirements with the Principal Contractor.
Develop technical specifications for work scopes on mechanical plant and equipment; involve in tendering and procurement processes.
Use plant modification process for all mechanical plant modifications; ensure all mechanical procedures and drawings are updated.
Use the Contractor Management (CM) process to manage assigned contracts, including CM tools to track progress and hold Kick‑Off, Progress, Close‑Out meetings, etc.
Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and workshop visits if required.
Create Mechanical Close‑Out Report.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience planning major power station overhauls – including logistics, procurement, specification development and contractor management.
Ability to work and share knowledge and competencies within a team structure.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Flexibility in all aspects of the role.
Strong report‑writing capability.
Base LocationFull‑time, onsite in Wicklow, Ireland. The successful candidate must work from this base location.
Please note that travel, accommodation and related expenses will not be reimbursed unless they are normally incurred by the candidate in their usual place of work; such expenses shall be agreed in advance with the line manager. Claims for reimbursement of approved receipts must be submitted via the contractor’s agency. Mileage rates for journeys carried out will not apply.
