Brightwater Executive is delighted to be partnering with Chime, Irelands national charity for Deaf and Hard of Hearing people, to appoint a Director of People and Culture.
Chime is a values-driven organisation dedicated to creating a fully inclusive society.
For over 60 years, the organisation has provided advice, care, technology and community support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing people across Ireland.
With almost 100 employees across a network of resource centres and residential services, Chime is committed to empowering individuals, strengthening communities and delivering meaningful social impact.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this is a senior leadership role within the organisations Senior Management Team with responsibility for both strategic and operational HR delivery.
The Director of People and Culture will play a central role in shaping and delivering Chimes people strategy, ensuring the organisation continues to attract, develop and retain the talent required to deliver high-quality, person-centred services nationally.
The Role The Director of People and Culture will lead Chimes people strategy, shape an inclusive, values-driven culture, and empower the team to grow, thrive, and deliver outstanding support to Deaf and Hard of Hearing people across Ireland and play a central role in enabling Chimes strategic objectives through its people.
This is a high-impact leadership role focused on organisational culture, workforce capability and employee engagement across a national organisation.
Key areas of responsibility include: Strategic Alignment: Designing and implementing a progressive people strategy aligned with Chimes strategic plan and organisational priorities.
Talent & Workforce Development: Overseeing workforce planning, recruitment and talent development to ensure the organisation has the skills and capabilities required to deliver services nationally.
Operational Excellence: Leading the HR function and ensuring effective delivery of HR operations, employee relations, remuneration and performance management processes.
Cultural Leadership: Fostering an inclusive, values-led culture that supports collaboration, engagement and organisational development across multiple service locations.
Governance & Compliance: Ensuring robust HR governance, compliance with Irish employment legislation and alignment with relevant regulatory requirements.
The successful candidate will be an experienced HR leader with the ability to influence at senior leadership level and support a mission-driven organisation delivering essential services across Ireland.
Experience: An established HR or People leader with significant experience operating at senior leadership level and partnering with executive stakeholders.
Experience in workforce planning, organisational development, and culture transformation initiatives.
Not-for-profit, public, or regulated sector experience is desirable.
Strong analytical capability with experience using HR data and insights to inform decision-making.
Competencies: A strategic thinker with the ability to translate organisational priorities into practical people initiatives while supporting organisational change and development as well as resilient and adaptable, able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of Irish employment legislation, HR best practice and governance frameworks.
Qualifications: A relevant third-level qualification in Human Resources, Business or Organisational Development, with professional HR accreditation such as CIPD desirable.
