Job Title: Social Care Worker
Location: Galway
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Care Worker to join our client's team in Co. Galway to provide support to individuals with intellectual disabilities. The ideal candidate will have a genuine passion for supporting individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives, promoting dignity, and ensuring that each person receives the highest standard of care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support individuals with intellectual disabilities in their day-to-day activities, promoting independence and enhancing their quality of life.
* Act as person in charge in the absence of the service manager.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the people supported, other professionals and the individuals' families.
* Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, social activities, and community integration.
* Advocate for the rights and needs of individuals, ensuring that they have a voice in their care and treatment.
* Provide emotional and practical support to individuals, encouraging personal growth and confidence.
* Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
* Foster a positive and inclusive environment that promotes dignity, respect, and equality for all service users.
* Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, attending meetings, reviews, and training sessions as required.
* Ensure that all services are delivered in line with current legislation, best practice guidelines, and organizational policies.
Requirements:
* A relevant qualification in Social Care, or a related field (Level 7 or above), with CORU registration.
* Experience working with people with intellectual disabilities is preferred.
* A manual, Irish driving license.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
* A person-centered approach with a focus on individual needs.
* Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Other Requirements:
Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
