Project Manager Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Manager to join our team in Cork. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing complex civil projects, ensuring timely completion and staying within budget.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in managing civil engineering projects, including groundworks, roads, Irish Water, ESB, utilities, and concrete. They will possess excellent interpersonal skills, strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
* Developing Project Plans: Examine project plans and requirements to develop comprehensive baseline programmes using Microsoft Project.
* Monitoring Progress: Regularly monitor programme progress and provide clients with updates on any delays or changes.
* Negotiating Variations: Identify delays in the critical path as they occur and negotiate necessary extensions of time with the client.
* Financial Management: Assess project pricing and monitor internal costs to ensure the project stays within budget.
Requirements
* Civil Engineering Experience: At least 5 years of experience in managing civil engineering projects, including groundworks, roads, Irish Water, ESB, utilities, and concrete.
* Management Skills: Proven ability to manage sub-contractors and work effectively under pressure.
* Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate commercial issues and proposed solutions to the Contracts Manager.
