Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Stroke Rehabilitation Specialist to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the assessment and rehabilitation of stroke patients across acute and rehabilitation settings.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering evidence-based, patient-centred care while working within a multidisciplinary team.
\
The role will focus on assessment, diagnosis, and intervention for communication and swallowing disorders in stroke patients, contributing to improved patient outcomes.
\
Key Responsibilities:
\
* Conduct specialist assessments and interventions for stroke patients with communication and swallowing disorders.
\
* Provide expert clinical decision-making in complex cases.
\
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams in acute and rehabilitation settings.
\
* Develop care pathways that optimise patient recovery.
\
* Support service development, clinical research, and quality improvement initiatives.
\
* Provide clinical supervision and mentoring to colleagues.
\
* Stay up to date with best practices and emerging research in stroke rehabilitation.
\
Requirements:
\
* CORU registration as a Speech & Language Therapist.
\
* Minimum 5 years post-registration experience, including 4 years in stroke rehabilitation.
\
* Recognised dysphagia qualification in line with IASLT standards.
\
* Experience in Videofluoroscopic Swallowing Studies (VFS) is desirable.
\
* Strong clinical leadership, research, and service development experience.
\
* Access to own transport is desirable.
