The School of Law at University College Cork (UCC) invites applications for a fully funded PhD scholarship in Law, with a stipend of €25,000 per annum for up to four years. This opportunity is open to candidates commencing full-time PhD studies in September 2025, as well as those currently in the first year of their full-time PhD at UCC.
Requirements
– A first class honours undergraduate degree (or equivalent), OR a high 2.1 honours degree (or equivalent) with outstanding subsequent academic or professional accomplishments
– AND either a Master’s degree OR extensive and relevant professional experience
– The scholarship is for full-time study only and cannot be combined with full-time employment elsewhere
– The successful candidate is normally expected to reside in the Munster region
– Desirable: Experience in teaching, publication, or research-related activities

– Scholarship holders may have opportunities for paid teaching or tutoring
– Recipients commencing their PhD in September 2025 must apply for Research Ireland funding during their first year; if successful, funding will be transferred to that source, otherwise, the School will continue funding
