Role Overview:
We are seeking professional, safety-conscious, and customer-focused bus drivers to operate Local Link scheduled public transport services in the Glendalough and Arklow region. The successful candidates will be responsible for the safe and punctual operation of services, including collecting fares and handling cash, while maintaining a high standard of customer service and full compliance with National Transport Authority (NTA) and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operate Local Link services on scheduled routes to and from Glendalough in line with published timetables.
* Collect fares, issue tickets or receipts, and handle cash accurately and responsibly.
* Provide a courteous, friendly, and professional service to all passengers, assisting elderly or mobility-impaired customers as needed.
* Conduct daily vehicle walk-around checks, reporting any defects or damage immediately.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and presentable vehicle both inside and out.
* Ensure compliance with RSA and NTA regulations, including tachograph and driver hours rules.
* Follow company procedures for cash reconciliation, ticket control, and reporting.
* Communicate effectively with the Transport Office regarding delays, incidents, or passenger issues.
* Represent Nolan Coaches professionally at all times through appearance, conduct, and customer engagement.
Requirements:
* Full Category D Bus Driving Licence.
* Valid Driver CPC Card and Tachograph (Driver Digi) Card.
* Minimum of 1 year's professional driving experience (Local Link or scheduled route experience desirable).
* Excellent customer service and communication skills.
* Experience in cash handling and fare collection (training provided).
* Good knowledge of Glendalough, Wicklow Mountains, Arklow, Bray, and surrounding areas.
* Strong focus on safety, punctuality, and reliability.
* Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Hours of Work:
* Typically rostered between Monday and Sunday on rotating shifts.
* Hours may vary in line with operational needs; as much notice as possible will be given of any changes.
* Overtime may occasionally be required and will be discussed and agreed with the line manager in advance.
