Job Description
This position supports internal customers throughout all Perry Ellis International Business Divisions. The Buyer sources, qualifies, selects, negotiates, and purchases from product and service providers in the Indirect Materials area. The Buyer is responsible for fostering supplier partnerships and for developing, implementing, and monitoring a supplier review process.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Procure goods and services efficiently and economically, aligning with internal customer requirements and company policies.
2. Provide follow-up and communication on quotes requested and purchases made.
3. Consolidate purchasing efforts across operations to reduce costs and administrative overhead.
4. Develop and achieve goals related to cost reduction, supplier performance, and process improvements.
5. Communicate effectively with suppliers and internal customers to resolve procurement issues.
Skills
* Experience buying goods and services in manufacturing and/or retail environments.
* Negotiation experience with contracts and agreements.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Proficiency with Google applications including Sheets, Docs, and Drive.
Requirements
* Minimum of five (5) years of purchasing experience for goods and services.
* Experience within organizations with revenues exceeding $250M, inventory control, purchasing IT products and services, and using Oracle system.
* High School Degree required; Associate's Degree preferred.
