What we are looking for in a Communications Assistant
We are looking for a Communications Assistant to support the Ardán Comms, Marketing, and PR Manager with day-to-day communications tasks for Ardán, WRAP, and Galway City of Film related initiatives and projects.
This role may include admin and data entry, blog & newsletter writing for platforms like WordPress/ Mailchimp, social media management, design support, research and archival work, physical asset management, and AV content management alongside the Comms, Marketing, & PR Manager and the Design Executive.
This is an opportunity to work as part of a small comms, marketing, and PR team to assist with the communications requirements across the Ardán team's various funding initiatives, our training and networking opportunities, and the events we host or support.
The Comms Assistant will work on:
Daily admin tasks including capturing, recording, and organising internal data
Event marketing tasks including lifting and transporting physical assets & merch
Content editing & proofing for blog posts, social media, newsletters, and reports
Social media tasks including content creation, editing, and publishing, as needed
General support for the Comms, Marketing & PR Manager and Design Executive
The ideal candidate will have:
1-2 years' experience working in a similar organisation and/or in a similar role
Excellent communications and IT skills, and motivation to learn new expertise
Some knowledge and experience working with branding for content marketing
An interest in comms, marketing and PR, particularly social media management
An understanding of the arts/ cultural sector, with an interest in the AV industry

Terms of employment
The Communications Assistant will be working 20 hours per week – working mainly Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend and evening event work required.
This is a fixed-term 6-month part-time contract.
This hybrid role includes remote and in-office work in Ardán's Galway office at the CREW Hub on the Wellpark Road, and occasionally event locations.
