Job Specification: EY – Programme Risk & Recovery Project Manager (Senior Manager)

Introduction
The Programme Risk and Recovery team is a specialist arm of EY’s Risk Management practice. We partner with clients across public sector, energy & utilities, financial services and telco to assess, recover and strengthen project and programme risk capabilities, ensuring strategic objectives are delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Client‑Facing
Build trusted relationships with clients and internal peers, understanding their ecosystem and risk appetite.
Develop high‑quality deliverables that reinforce EY’s brand and reputation.
Serve as subject‑matter expert, shaping services and advising on risk, recovery and project strategy.
Lead presentations and proposals for medium‑ to high‑complexity engagements, influencing bids and contracts.
Generate commercial insights, adapt frameworks to client culture and contribute to thought leadership.
Own QRM initiatives, ensuring teams meet quality & risk management standards.
Internal Support
Assist with client account management: recruitment, finance oversight and risk governance.
Identify new business opportunities and support partnership development.
Deliver high‑impact presentations for prospective clients.
Communicate with EY senior management, building and motivating high‑performing teams.
Advise on EY service offerings and explore opportunities for value‑added solutions.
Foster cross‑service relationships within Risk Management.
Support team development: coaching, mentoring, performance reviews, and people initiatives.
Skills & Attributes
15‑20+ years of project risk or programme delivery experience, with a focus on technology or consulting.
Experience in Programme Assurance (health checks) and large‑scale transformation projects.
Track record of leading high‑performing teams.
Qualifications
Excellent stakeholder management and communication with a history of complex programme oversight.
Solid understanding of governance and change‑management principles.
Strong tertiary qualification (minimum bachelor’s degree).
Preferred Certifications
PRINCE2®, PMP, MSP, ACP or similar project/ programme credentials.
Interest in Project Assurance, Portfolio Management, PMO, benchmarking or best practice.
