About the Role
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for solving complicated problems by applying electrical principles and ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role involves overseeing current and new applications, managing power generation, transmission, and distribution, working with high and low voltage equipment, designing systems with computer software, integrating renewable energy sources, and maintaining building services such as lighting, heating, ventilation, and lift systems.
Additional duties include conducting feasibility studies, creating project plans, models, prototypes, and circuit diagrams, budgeting and estimating timescales, testing installations and systems, ensuring projects meet safety regulations, overseeing inspection and maintenance programmes, implementing electrical systems, developing manufacturing processes, managing engineering projects to delivery deadlines, and maintaining compliance with the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
Responsibilities
Manage power generation, transmission, and distribution.
Work with high and low voltage equipment.
Design systems and products using computer software.
Integrate renewable energy sources.
Maintain building services such as lighting, heating, ventilation, and lift systems.
Conduct feasibility studies for new technical developments.
Create project plans, models, prototypes and circuit diagrams.
Budget and estimate timescales.
Test installations and systems.
Ensure projects meet safety regulations.
Oversee inspection and maintenance programmes.
Design, control and implement electrical systems and products.
Develop manufacturing processes according to global engineering codes.
Manage engineering projects and deliver them on time.
Ensure installations meet customer needs and safety standards.
Collaborate with engineers and technicians on new system processes.
Perform quality and performance analysis on new and legacy IT systems.
Summarize data and report on test results.
Calculate costs and prepare budgets for new equipment.
Monitor maintenance and inspection plans.
Report quality issues, unsafe acts and conditions to proper personnel.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of power generation, transmission and high/low voltage systems.
Proven experience designing, implementing and testing electrical systems and equipment.
Solid understanding of electrical codes, safety regulations and compliance standards.
Proficiency in electrical design and calculation software.
Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and industrial systems.
Ability to manage engineering projects, including budgeting, estimating and delivery to timelines.
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with experience in performance and quality analysis.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, able to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing and Operations teams.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented and delivery‑focused, with strong documentation and reporting capability.
