Tirlán, currently partnering with a 3rd party service provider for IT services, is embarking on a significant IT transformation to develop its own IT capabilities. The initial focus will be on enabling projects with close collaboration with our partner. This will require new roles in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

Overview
Reporting to the Head of IT, the IT Security and Risk Manager will lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s IT security and risk management strategies. The role is vital in safeguarding IT systems, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a security-aware culture. It includes managing internal specialists and third-party providers to conduct assessments, implement controls, and maintain security policies, procedures, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Governance
* Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive enterprise IT & OT security and risk management program aligned with business objectives.
* Define and maintain IT & OT security and risk governance frameworks, policies, and standards (e.g., COBIT), ensuring alignment with Tirlán policies and regulatory requirements.
* Lead the development and execution of security strategy and roadmap, ensuring continuous improvement of security posture.
1. Risk Management & Compliance
* Identify, assess, and manage internal and third-party IT risks in collaboration with stakeholders.
* Define and apply risk assessment methodologies, including due diligence processes and tools.
* Monitor and report on compliance, ensuring timely remediation of gaps.
* Schedule and oversee audits, track outcomes, and ensure resolution of issues.
* Manage assurance monitoring and evidence retention for audits.
2. Security Operations & Controls
* Support the implementation and maintenance of IT & OT control frameworks.
* Assist teams in defining and executing risk mitigation plans.
* Monitor control effectiveness and compliance progress.
* Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and incident response planning.
* Lead or support investigations of security incidents and follow-up actions.
3. Stakeholder Engagement & Advisory
* Provide guidance on security and risk considerations for operations, projects, and third-party engagements.
* Ensure security requirements are embedded in new initiatives based on risk assessments.
* Engage with auditors, regulators, and assurance functions as needed.
4. Awareness & Capability Building
* Design and deliver security training and awareness programs.
* Promote a risk-aware culture and integrate security into daily operations.
5. Team & Vendor Management
* Manage internal security team members and coordinate with external service providers to ensure effective service delivery.
Key Requirements:
* 8+ years’ experience in risk management, IT security, and related roles.
* 2+ years’ experience reporting security posture to executive teams.
* Understanding of controls for on-premise and cloud applications, Data Loss Prevention, IAM, Threat Detection, Cloud, and Mobile Computing.
* Knowledge of ISO 27000 series, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, CIS Controls.
* Experience in Security, IT Audit, and Supplier Security Assessments.
* Familiarity with security products and Security Management Systems.
* Knowledge of security and risk strategies.
* Ability to influence stakeholders and lead a team.
* Experience with vendor negotiations and managed services.
* Experience with OT environments is advantageous.
* Strong team player with a growth mindset.
