A growing financial services firm with a strong reputation in the market is hiring a Financial Accountant to strengthen its finance function.
This is a broad, hands-on role with real exposure to senior stakeholders, regulatory reporting timelines, and process improvement.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership, you'll take ownership of month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax/VAT compliance, while partnering with the wider business to deliver clear analysis and insight.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cashflow)
Month-end close: journals, accruals, prepayments, reconciliations, variance analysis
Balance sheet ownership: bank, control accounts, intercompany, debtor/creditor, provisions
Support statutory accounts preparation and year-end audit process
Tax compliance support: VAT returns, corporation tax packs and liaison with external advisors
Assist with regulatory/returns reporting where relevant
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning cycles
Identify and implement process improvements and stronger controls across reporting and close
Requirements
Practice trained accountant with an audit background
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with 1-3 years PQE
Must have financial services experience
Comfortable working to deadlines and improving ways of working
Excellent Excel skills; experience with accounting/ERP systems
