The Sr Manager, European Lab Service advances the capability of Nelipak Laboratory Services through customer relationship management and business development, networking with outside laboratories, method development and documentation, purchase of new lab instrumentation, and daily laboratory schedule organization.
Leadership & People Management: Reviews and approves testing reports/plans done by lab technicians and engineers Organizes day-to-day planning of laboratory work, scheduling of customer projects in advance Identifies gaps in lab capability Mentors junior laboratory technicians Identifies training needs and provides ongoing performance feedback to department Manager Leads the team in managing resourcing, performance management, etc.
Recognizes and drives business development opportunities Technical Responsibilities: Provides analytical support for manufacturing to resolve claims or production issues Independently develops testing protocols, applying known methods/techniques to solve problems Conducts chemical and polymer analysis to understand raw materials and competitive products Improves methods and method repeatability through statistical analysis Assists with writing and reviewing quality documentation Client & Business Development: Arranges and undertakes client visits Creates quotations for customers based on their requests Assists marketing department in preparing marketing materials for the laboratory Attends trade shows to showcase the lab services strategically Understands limitations of instruments & methods; works with lab customers to understand capability to meet customer needs and required level of precision Continuous Improvement: Works with product development teams in the analysis and development of new products Advances the capability of the labs by documenting proposals (scope, plan, cost, relevance) Evaluates and purchases new lab instrumentation Develops methods through literature review, research, and statistical validation Degree or equivalent qualification in Materials Science & Engineering, Chemistry, or related field with 3+ years of experience.
