The purpose of this role is to provide accurate, timely, and commercially meaningful financial insight for the business, supporting effective decision-making and overall performance. The role is responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, robust gross margin and balance sheet reporting, and ensuring strong financial control across cashflow, debtors, creditors, and inventory.
Principal Accountabilities
Preparation of monthly management accounts, including all aspects of gross margin and overhead analysis for the Texturised butter (TX) business.
Ensure gross margin reporting on TX P&L is based on actual purchase cost, which is reflected in our stock value.
Support the commercial team with reporting on outstanding orders versus inventory balances, volumes and values. terms.
Reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts monthly. plans.
Ensure suppliers (cream & finished butter products, hauliers) are paid within payment terms.
Work closely with accounts receivable to ensure debtors are paid within strict payment
Preparation of monthly financial forecasts and preparation of financial budgets and 5-year
Understand all aspects of cashflow (profit, stocks, debtors & creditors) to assist with the preparation of accurate cashflow forecasting.
Work closely with the production sites to build knowledge of production processes, yields, costs etc
Identify and implement new processes & procedures to improve SAP reporting (stock, gross margin, freight).
Complete ad-hoc statutory returns as required.
Skills and Qualifications
Fully qualified with strong management accounting experience and a solid track record of delivering accurate and timely month-end reporting.
Advanced Excel capability with strong experience in ERP and reporting tools (SAP, QlikSense) to support robust financial analysis and insight.
Commercially aware, with the ability to partner effectively with commercial teams and translate financial data into actionable business insights.
Strong analytical capability, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and deliver under tight deadlines.
Proactive, driven, and comfortable taking ownership of deliverables while working independently with minimal supervision.
Willing to engage across the full spectrum of finance activities, from transactional basics through to higher-level reporting and presentations.
Able to deep-dive into the detail while maintaining a clear view of overall business performance and priorities.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across finance, commercial, and operational teams.
