Snr Process Organic Chemist
Fantastic opportunity for an experienced process development chemist on a permanent basis to work on an extensive range of products and projects. This facility is continuing to grow with excellent career progression opportunities. The Snr Process Chemist will provide process chemistry support for existing and new processes to ensure that the site’s scientific, quality, and safety metrics are achieved.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Acquire and maintain detailed knowledge of the chemistry of relevant processes.
Lead or participate in detailed technical risk assessments for plant changes/product introduction.
Contribute to development initiatives to improve process understanding, control, capability, cycle time, yield, and efficiency.
Participate in or lead the Technology Transfer process, ensuring processes are suitable for production.
Prepare technical documentation such as batch records, SOPs, process steps, PQ protocols, reports, and training material.
Provide training to operations personnel.
Lead process changes approval, ensuring proper communication and progression.
Investigate quality and yield issues, ensuring timely closure of deviation reports and investigations.
Liaise with customers regarding issues, updates, and requests.
Support laboratory development projects to meet schedules.
Collaborate with procurement for cost reduction and supply security, and evaluate suppliers.
Support technical aspects of capital projects related to new or re-developed products.
Assist in regulatory submissions and audits.
Maintain product quality lifecycle management.
Act as the principal technical contact for products, overseeing lifecycle and influence on manufacturing and analytical processes.
Assess product quality impacts of changes, review control strategies.
Establish relationships across departments and with clients for product accountability.
Lead root cause analyses for product complaints and deviations.
Develop successors and coach team members in their areas of expertise.
Candidate Requirements
PhD in Organic Chemistry or related field.
Ideally 3+ years in process development, tech transfers, and NPI support.
Experience with API plant processes is beneficial.
