Impact
As a Manager of Cloud Operations Engineering, you will lead a team of Cloud Engineers, DevOps, Infrastructure Operations Engineers, and Systems Administrators.
You will help them grow while building a culture focused on reliability and continuous improvement.
You will support your team through day-to-day challenges, mentor them in infrastructure technologies and best practices, and help them develop their careers.
You will oversee the operations and maintenance of cloud-based, hybrid, and data centre infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and keeping systems running smoothly.
You will collaborate across the organization with platform, security, and application teams to solve complex infrastructure problems and align on priorities.
On the engineering side, you will champion automation and infrastructure-as-code practices to reduce manual operational work, streamline deployment and operational workflows, and support your team in adopting modern DevOps and cloud operations best practices.
You will also help establish clear communication during incidents and work with stakeholders to keep everyone informed on system status and technical updates.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of relevant experience in cloud operations or DevOps engineering, with 2+ years in a team lead or supervisory role, OR Master's degree plus 3 years of experience with 1+ year in a leadership capacity.
Experience leading or mentoring technical teams in infrastructure operations, cloud operations, or DevOps engineering.
Solid knowledge of cloud platforms, virtualization, storage systems, and experience with IPv4/IPv6 networking, Linux/Windows Server administration, and infrastructure automation.
Hands-on experience automating infrastructure deployments, managing virtualization platforms, storage systems, and troubleshooting operational issues in cloud or hybrid environments.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience managing teams and fostering a collaborative culture.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing teams or specialists across cloud operations, infrastructure operations, or DevOps engineering roles.
Strong hands-on background with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), virtualization (VMware, OpenStack), and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
Experience with automation frameworks, scripting, and CI/CD pipelines (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Python, shell scripting).
Solid understanding of IPv4/IPv6 networking and experience with cloud network architecture and automation.
Hands-on experience with monitoring, observability, and incident response in cloud or hybrid environments.
Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements through automation and embrace modern DevOps practices.
Track record of mentoring team members and supporting their professional growth.
Knowledge of Cisco products and cloud infrastructure context.
