Principal Medical Social Worker
Permanent Contract 35 hours per week (Blanchardstown/Raheny) (We are a Section 38 Agency)
St. Francis Hospice Dublin is seeking a dynamic and experienced Principal Medical Social Worker to lead and develop our Social Work service. This senior role offers the opportunity to shape the future of psychosocial care in a progressive hospice, contributing directly to our mission of supporting individuals and families living with life-limiting illness. This is a unique opportunity to join a talented and compassionate team dedicated to delivering high-quality, person-centred care to individuals with life-limiting conditions.
As Principal Medical Social Worker, you will provide strategic and operational leadership to a motivated team of Medical Social Workers across our Inpatient Units, Community Palliative Care teams and Outpatient & Day Services. Collaborating closely with the wider interdisciplinary team, you will drive innovation, service development, and quality improvement in psychosocial care
The person must have
* National Qualification in Social Work (NQSW) or equivalent, and registration with CORU.
* Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in Social Work.
* Proven experience working within a multi-disciplinary team, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across clinical and non-clinical disciplines to support holistic, person-centred care.
* Evidence of continuing professional development in Social Work, knowledge, skills and practice.
* Have relevant experience of working in a managerial capacity and in the effective delivery of professional supervision.
Established track record of promoting and embedding best practice, quality improvement, and corporate governance principles
* Excellent IT skills to include, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, outlook, video conferencing tools e.g. Zoom/Teams
* Promoting the ethos and values of an organisation
* Full clean driving license.
