Job Title: Project Manager

Location: Newtownards

Salary: £18.72/hr

Hours: 37 per week, Mon–Fri 9:00am–5:00pm

Duration: Ongoing Temporary to cover a vacant position

On behalf of our client, we are delighted to be recruiting for a Project Manager to join the AM Project Delivery Management team at the Newtownards Office. This temporary role offers an excellent opportunity to manage design and build contracts and deliver planned works programmes in line with NEC Term Service Contracts.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Possess a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Building / Construction / Technical Discipline PLUS 2 years' relevant experience,

or;

Possess a relevant BTEC Higher Cert/Diploma or qualification of an equivalent academic level PLUS 3 years' relevant experience in Building / Construction / Technical Discipline

Access to car as driving to locations will be required

Key Responsibilities:

To ensure the various work streams are delivered in accordance with the Housing Executive's policies and procedures and develop these further on an on-going basis to ensure that legislation and good practice are met.


• To receive tenders and quotations, evaluate prices, check documents and prepare agreements and contracts.


• To maintain a regular dialogue with contractors and consultants to ensure effective progress of work. To raise appropriate certificates and instructions for issue to contractor/consultant.


• To ensure project performance and quality is maintained to a high level and that all targets and key performance indicators are achieved.


• To be responsible for designated budgets and provide forecasts of expenditure.


• To ensure all paperwork in relation to project delivery is processed in a timely and effective manner ensuring information entered on the relevant IT system is accurate to enable effective performance monitoring.


• To collate and report monthly performance monitoring statistics detailing performance, quality and cost data and other information as required.


• To co-ordinate and manage the NHIE's contractors and consultants ensuring high performance and excellent value for money are achieved at all times.


• To support in the development and implementation of risk mitigation for non-compliance issues and ensure these are actioned / mitigated / escalated in a timely manner.


• To contribute to the effective delivery of a Quality Service through the formulation, review and proper implementation of policies and procedures.


• To engage in benchmarking in and outside the sector to ensure the Housing Executive are following best practice in asset management.


• To provide accurate, up to date and concise information for internal and external audits as and when required.


• To undertake other occasional duties which are consistent with the responsibilities of the post.


• Experience in the management of NEC 3/4 Construction Contracts
• Experience in ensuring that projects are properly managed and delivered in line with the agreed targets, standards and procedures


• The provision of technical advice and guidance on maintenance contract related matters to a range of stakeholders


• The collection, analysis and reporting of performance monitoring statistics detailing performance, quality and cost data and related information if required to ensure Key Performance Indicators are achieved


• Demonstrate an understanding of good governance with respect to project management.


• Excellent planning and organisational skills


• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills


• Strong customer orientation


• Ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders


• Effective oral and written communication skills including the preparation and presentation of technical reports
