Mallow Credit Union has an exciting new opportunity for an IT Support Technician to be part of an ambitious, forward looking and strategic thinking credit union. Job Purpose The IT Support Technician will report to the IT Manager and will be primarily responsible for supporting the IT infrastructure, with the key objective of supporting the IT network, employees PCs, telephone network and related software to deliver best in class systems. Key Responsibilities Provide deskside and remote support to staff across 8 branches. Assist with the rollout of new hardware and digital tools. Assist staff with new systems and create user-friendly guides. Support the IT Manager in implementing projects to modernize our banking systems, software and hardware. Keep up to date with technical and industry developments. Maintain the IT asset registers and assist with documentation. Troubleshoot issues with PCs, Laptops, Networks, phones, and financial software. Document changes to PC hardware and software and results of troubleshooting issues. Communicate proactively with internal and external stakeholders. Liaise with vendors to escalate issues when needed. Work with the IT Manager to support the planning and scheduling of essential maintenance, security updates and investigation of system and application events that effect performance. Any other duties as relevant to IT support. The above is not an exhaustive list of duties, as the role may change to meet the overall objectives of the Credit Union. Requirements 1-2 years of hands-on IT support experience, with working knowledge of Windows 10/11 operating systems, Active Directory, Microsoft Office 365 administration. Third level qualification in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, CompTIA Certifications or a related field would be preferable. A practical, can-do attitude and willingness to learn. Full clean Driving Licence and access to your own transport, as travel to our 8 branches is required. Strong communication skills and the ability to explain tech in plain English. Relevant progressive IT work or relevant industry and/or Credit Union support experience would be desirable. Understanding of the general and technical aspects of the role including system applications. Excellent administrative, organisational and support skills. Ability to prioritise issues and escalate accordingly. Ability to work independently and in a team environment. A problem solver with a passion for delivering on results and providing solutions. Empathy with the ethos and values of the Credit Union is desirable. Skills: Strong Troubleshooting Skills Excellent Planning & Organisational Skills IT Support Experience Benefits: Pension Fund
