About the Role
As a key member of the Finance team, the Commercial Accountant will report directly to the Financial Controller within the Finance Department. As Commercial Accountant, your responsibilities will include financial planning and analysis and preparation of Weekly Commercial P&L’s for Senior Management. The role exists to turn operational activity into financial insight, challenge performance constructively, and supporting management in improving margin, cash, and risk outcomes across projects.

Key Responsibilities
Preparation of Weekly Profit & Loss Commercial Reporting.
Preparation and review of various project costings and weekly labour allocations.
Reconciling weekly project reports to monthly actuals and implementing appropriate actions to deliver consistent results and minimise variances.
Participate in strategic data analysis, research, and modelling for senior company leadership.
Support project analysis, validation of plans, and ad-hoc requests.
Weekly Headcount Reporting.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts as required.
Support issue resolution and internal queries in a timely manner, maintaining an audit trail of queries in the event issues are escalated.
Develop an understanding of all finance/business processes with a view to implementing efficiencies and improvements through proficient excel modelling, AI and system upgrades.
Work closely with the Commercial Team to align commercial and financial goals for the company with company long term strategic plans.
Using data analytics and financial reports to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and inform decision-making.
Manage Revenue Recognition, and Accrued Income ensuring all are in line with commercial terms and policy.
Preparing monthly management accounts, KPIs, and dashboards to support senior leadership.
Support month end close activities and prepare reports and business metrics as required.
Other duties as required and assigned by Financial Controller or such other designated person.
Skills & Qualifications
Qualified Accountant with experience in a similar role.
Strong organisational skills and problem solving experience.
ERP knowledge is an advantage.
Strong demonstrated use and knowledge of software such as MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint.
Ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information.
Target driven and ability to work proactively and collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders and to own initiative.
Proven experience of managing and dealing with multiple demands and competing priorities to strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and detail.
Excellent oral and written communications skills and experience.
