The Team and the opportunity
As part of our Data Analytics and AI team, the Data Architect role is pivotal in enabling our clients to derive significant value from their information assets. Through collaboration and domain expertise, we embed innovative data analytics solutions into existing business areas, transforming data into strategic assets. We are looking for a Data Architect who is passionate about leveraging data to solve complex problems and drive business outcomes. You will play a key role in driving growth by developing new and existing client relationships and delivering a first‑class customer experience on high‑profile engagements. The Data Analytics and AI team serves as trusted advisors, embedding innovative solutions into existing areas and transforming data into strategic assets.
Your Key Responsibilities
* Lead diverse teams with varying skillsets across Data and Analytics technologies.
* Adapt your leadership style to fit team, client, and cultural needs; anticipate and identify risks and elevate issues as appropriate.
* Create a positive learning culture; coach and counsel junior team members, sharing best practices, industry trends and technical knowledge to foster professional growth.
* Lead the design and implementation of data artefacts, including data modelling, data integration, data storage, and data governance based on industry best practices and client‑specific requirements.
* Apply hands‑on data modelling techniques to build Enterprise Data Models.
* Implement data management concepts such as Metadata Management, Data Quality, and Data Testing.
* Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including data scientists, engineers and business stakeholders, to translate business requirements into technical specifications and architectural designs.
* Assess existing data architectures, identify improvement areas and recommend remediation plans to optimise data management processes and systems.
* Develop data migration strategies and oversee execution of migration activities, ensuring data integrity and minimal disruption to client operations.
* Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering expert insights and recommendations on data architecture, governance, quality and security matters.
* Stay current with emerging technologies, trends and industry standards, and provide thought leadership to drive innovation and enhance our consulting offerings.
To qualify for the role, you must have
* Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis and strategy, with a proven track record of creating impactful visual stories from complex datasets.
* Strong academic record including a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related field.
* Strong expertise in data modelling, database design and SQL, with experience in multiple database platforms.
* Extensive knowledge of data integration techniques, ETL processes and data warehouse design.
* Experience in designing and implementing data governance frameworks and practices.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to understand complex business requirements and design innovative data solutions.
* Excellent client‑facing skills, building rapport, communicating effectively and managing relationships with clients at various levels.
* Strong leadership abilities, with the capacity to lead and mentor a team of consultants and drive successful project outcomes.
Ideally, you will also have
* Ability to keep pace with industry trends and apply best practices to data strategy and operations.
* Experience in consulting, providing strategic advice and practical solutions to business challenges.
* Familiarity with a wide range of database technologies, including relational, NoSQL and cloud‑based platforms.
