The person will be responsible for managing the software and database requirements to fulfil the role and use specialized software to identify spatial patterns, solve problems, and produce maps and dashboards for the wider Lirion team.Key ResponsibilitiesGather, organize, and maintain geographic data, ensuring its accuracy and integrity.Use GIS software to analyse data, identify trends, and solve problems based on location.Produce high-quality maps, charts, dashboards, and other visualizations for reports and presentations.Be responsible for the upkeep of software and database to ensure secure storage of data.Perform constraints analysis of potential areas for development.Use the Land Registry to identify land holdings and communicate key project issues through the use of maps and visual aids.Input into renewable energy policy consultations and local authority County Development Plans.Manage the development and design of the early-stage projects in line with Lirion Power standards.Help with the co-ordination of EIA process for the early stage projects including the co-ordination of bird and bat monitoring and the wind monitoring regime for project sites.What We're Looking ForAn experienced GIS Manager with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. That includes the following:University degree within relevant field.Minimum 2-5 years' work experience in a similar fieldStrong understanding of the EIA process including constraints analysis in order to lead GIS screening.Ideally experienced with renewable projects in Ireland with demonstrated ability of working with planning and EIA processes for the onshore wind and solar sectors.Proactive and solution-oriented– a practical doer who delivers quality results on time and with strong attention to detail.Clear affinity with renewables and ideally relevant working experience in the renewable energy industry.Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.Excellent application of GIS, MS Excel and other MS applications.Independent self-starter. Ability to manage a large workload, often providing support to processes managed by colleagues, while prioritizing tasks and effectively juggling competing deadlines.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for explaining complex information.Strong problem-solving abilities.
