Job Description

The role is for a Support Technician who will be employed as an agency employee and paid based on an annualised salary.


Responsibilities:

1. Provide onsite support at specific sites or multiple locations
2. Manage and respond to Service Desk calls, including travel to sites to support users
3. Establish good working relationships with customers
4. Troubleshoot hardware faults and refer them to third parties if necessary
5. Administer systems using Active Directory
6. Set up and amend Windows accounts and mailboxes
7. Access and update email branding sites for new and staff movers
8. Manage NCHD accounts and profiles
9. Assist the networks team when required
10. Support broadband sites, troubleshoot and diagnose problems
11. Liaise with broadband suppliers and network support when faults occur
12. Troubleshoot system problems, diagnose and solve software faults e.g. Citrix
13. Install and configure computer hardware and peripherals, operating systems and applications
14. Be involved in the roll-out of new systems National and Local (IPMS, NIMIS, ENDORAAD, TRACK&TRACE etc.) and systems through Service Introduction
15. System Administration - amend privileges / security permissions on server shares, setup of new shared folders on existing shares
16. Liaison with IPMS, NIMIS and Lab systems admin personnel regarding account setups
17. Manage PST requests and data requests for staff moves
18. Liaise with third party vendors for software / hardware installations
19. Support for new sites, installations of hardware in new locations and co-ordinating office moves to other sites
20. Deal with 'how to' and information requests including data security and ICT policies
21. Liaison with local and national ICT teams, e.g. Server and Network management
22. Install individual software requests Managed Print devices - liaise with vendors including IP information
23. Arrange disposal of old or obsolete equipment
24. Access consoles to push or provide solutions for requests e.g. Content encryption
25. Carry out backup routines and tape changes
26. Follow and adhere to SD processes, procedures and follow escalation process and other matters as appropriate
27. Coordinate office activities to secure efficiency and compliance to procedures and processes
28. Create and update records and databases with personnel, financial and other data
29. Submit timely reports and prepare presentations/proposals as assigned
30. Assist colleagues as requested
