Reporting to the Manager of Infrastructure and Operations, the Cloud Support / Infrastructure Engineer will play a key role in supporting the organisation’s IT operations and project delivery. This includes providing Level 3 technical support to the service desk team and contributing to a variety of infrastructure projects. The role works closely with the other Senior Infrastructure Engineer and the service desk team. It spans cloud and on-premise environments and requires strong hands‑on technical expertise across areas such as Azure, Azure AD, security, patching, asset management, and infrastructure upgrades.
About the Role
The Cloud Support / Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for managing and maintaining both Microsoft Azure and on‑premise environments, providing technical support, and contributing to infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
* Manage and maintain Microsoft Azure environment
* Manage and maintain on‑premise environment
* Provide Level 3 technical support to the service desk for escalated infrastructure issues
* Support delivery of infrastructure projects including upgrades, patching, and deployments
* Implement and monitor security controls and patch management processes
* Support the asset management lifecycle for infrastructure hardware and software
* Assist with development and maintenance of the development/test environments
* Contribute to ongoing improvements in IT infrastructure, documentation and automation
* Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and deliver enhancements
* Ensure compliance with internal standards and support audit readiness where required
Qualifications
* Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure hybrid environments
* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering or systems administration roles
Required Skills
* Proven ability to support and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues at Level 3
* Strong experience in virtualised environments
* Experience in patch management, security hardening and system monitoring
* Knowledge of asset management processes and tooling
* Familiarity with supporting development/test environments
* Experience with Windows Server, Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), and networking fundamentals
* Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment
* Strong documentation, communication and collaboration skills
* Experience working in a contract or project‑based environment is desirable
