The Plant Supplier Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving supplier process and systemic quality improvements. This position is instrumental in enabling the effective execution of Advanced Product Quality Planning through the receipt, release, and delivery of components to the manufacturing line.

This key contributor ensures customer satisfaction by leading containment and corrective action activities with suppliers to prevent quality non-conformances and improve the entire supply chain. Collaboration with procurement is crucial in assessing potential new suppliers as needed.

Responsibilities:

* Planning, organizing, and performing all supplier quality-related activities to deliver on-time PPAP and flawless launch for responsible components.
* Leading project teams related to incoming quality issues, CAPA, cost reduction, and quality system excellence to drive process and systemic quality improvements.
* Driving supplier quality improvement work with suppliers and requesting support from the Supplier Development group in case of major/recurring supplier quality needs.
* Assisting suppliers in quality assurance processes and procedures to facilitate continuous improvement of supplier and product performance.
* Performing and/or participating in source qualification by conducting quality and manufacturing system surveys and special process surveys. Taking first action to protect the plant from non-conforming parts from suppliers.
* Coordinating containment activities, initiating controls, and safeguarding replacement deliveries when needed.
* Initiating, verifying, evaluating, and ensuring timely closure of supplier CAPAs as necessary to improve quality and reduce interruption of operations. Internally reporting and following up on deviations. Initiating, following up, and closing deviation report requests.
* Reducing quality nonconformities and improving quality metrics.
* Preparing, distributing, and communicating supplier quality data/information to various stakeholders including PPM data for tracking and improvement. Participating in design reviews of new products.
* Serving as the Voice of the Customer within the organization in relating to supplier quality issues.
