Are you passionate about protecting the environment and ensuring sustainable waste management? This investigative, hands-on role involves inspections, intelligence gathering, audits and working with enforcement agencies to ensure compliance with waste management legislation.

The Role
You will safeguard the environment and ensure compliance with waste management legislation. This is an investigative and operational role where you will conduct inspections, gather intelligence, carry out audits, and build strong partnerships with enforcement agencies. You will be the face of compliance, tackle illegal waste activities, and contribute to a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable future.
Key Responsibilities
* Investigate and report on illegal waste activity.
* Inspect and audit waste producers, facilities, collection permit holders, and waste in transit.
* Collect, manage, and interpret data on waste activities.
* Conduct surveillance (overt and covert) when required.
* Prepare detailed reports, record findings, and update case management systems.
* Give evidence in court proceedings where necessary.
* Collaborate with enforcement partners including Local Authorities, the Environmental Protection Agency, An Garda Síochána, and Customs & Revenue Service.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll bring a blend of technical expertise, investigative skills, and strong communication abilities. Ideally you have:
* At least 10 years’ experience in investigations, enforcement, compliance assistance, and court representation.
* A full, clean driver’s license (Category B minimum).
* Strong analytical, organisational, and reporting skills.
* Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
* A collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently when required.
