Irish Rural Link Appoints New Chief Executive Officer
Briain Smyth will serve as the Chief Executive Officer of Irish Rural Link, effective 1 April ****.
As CEO, his responsibilities include:
Listening first to member organisations, communities, policymakers, and funders to inform a clear understanding of rural needs.
Building an ambitious, evidence-based agenda grounded in the realities of rural communities.
Introducing new ideas and innovative solutions to the public realm, challenging prevailing narratives and fostering fresh debate.
Collaborating with communities, government, and civil society to rebuild towns, villages, and parishes that have been impacted by service withdrawal.
Advocating for a fair deal and partnership across the energy transition, environmental challenges, and economic shifts that affect rural Ireland.
Leading discussions on rural policy and promoting Ireland's rural dimension at national and European levels.
