Your new company is a large building contractor in Ireland, operating across all sectors, including office, industrial, education, hospitality & retail. With offices located in Ireland and the UK. They are seeking an experienced HSE Manager for a large project based in Dublin.
Your new role
As the on-site Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading the implementation of a professional, competent, and knowledge-sharing culture across the project. Ensuring that best-in-class health, safety, and environment practices are planned, implemented, and shared effectively, you will be the person that project teams see as a positive, value-adding service.
Responsibilities
* Assist the BU HSE Manager in the consistent roll-out of company strategy and expectations within SOPs, Guidance, etc.
* Carry out high-quality safety inspections of workplaces at a frequency and with intrusiveness as coached by the BU HSE Manager.
* Assist the BU HSE Manager with tender and prequalification submissions where requested, advising on Health and Safety concerns as well as helping provide practical solutions.
* Attend Start-Up meetings with site teams, hold risk reviews, carry out and report on investigations.
* Implement the management system, coaching and encouraging stakeholders at all levels to uphold and maintain all regulatory, statutory, and internal Health & Safety expectations and standards.
What you'll need to succeed
* A relevant third level qualification, e.g., health & Safety or occupational health
* NEBOSH, IOSH certification
* 5+ years of experience as a Health & Safety professional in the construction industry
* Competent working knowledge of lifting operations BS 7121/IS 361, Temporary Works, Incident Investigations, Health & Safety audits
* Excellent communication and IT skills with experience reporting to a senior level
