Senior Security Engineer Location: Dublin | Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent | Salary: €65,000 - €78,000 DOE An established organisation is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead the development and optimisation of its cybersecurity operations. This role will oversee security monitoring, incident response, and technical integration across cloud and on-premises environments. The Role You'll play a key role in defining detection strategies, managing advanced investigations, and ensuring consistent security controls across the business. The position suits someone with strong technical depth and a passion for building resilient, secure systems. Key Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and optimisation of security monitoring and detection tools. Manage and investigate high-severity security incidents, coordinating response and recovery. Develop playbooks, detection logic, and automation workflows. Collaborate with IT, cloud, and compliance teams to maintain strong governance. Mentor junior analysts and contribute to process improvements. Conduct threat assessments and recommend architecture enhancements. Skills & Experience 5+ years' experience in cybersecurity operations or engineering. Expertise in SIEM, EDR, or XDR platforms and incident response processes. Strong grasp of cloud and network security fundamentals. Experience with scripting or automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell). Knowledge of frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or MITRE ATT&CK. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
