**Job Description**
We are seeking an Automation Specialist to support the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and continuous improvement of automated manufacturing equipment in a regulated medical device environment.
This role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure equipment reliability, compliance, and operational efficiency as the new site ramps up production.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support installation and commissioning of automated production lines and equipment in the new facility.
* Perform planned, predictive, and reactive maintenance on a range of automation systems (robotics, PLC-controlled machinery, vision systems, conveyors, etc.).
* Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain compliance with GMP and ISO 13485 standards.
* Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to implement equipment modifications and improvements.
* Ensure all work is documented in line with regulatory and company standards.
* Support validation, calibration, and qualification of equipment and systems.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
* Provide technical support and training to production operators as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Qualified in Automation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
* 2+ years' experience in an automation or maintenance role, ideally within medical devices, pharma, or a regulated manufacturing environment.
* Strong technical knowledge of PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley or similar), robotics, servo systems, and vision systems.
* Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
* Familiarity with GMP, ISO 13485, or other regulated manufacturing environments.
* Ability to work shifts and respond flexibly to production needs.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
