OverviewThis Work Placement Experience Programme provides Participants with an opportunity to gain meaningful work experience, learning and training while on the programme. This programme is for jobseekers who are in receipt of qualifying social welfare payments and those transferring from a social welfare scheme or an ETB Training Allowance. Your eligibility for this programme will be verified by the Department as part of the application process.Job DescriptionThe placement offers hands-on experience in a café environment, with a strong focus on training and skills development. The participant will receive barista training, including coffee preparation, machine use, and milk steaming, along with Food Safety Level 1 & 2 training. Duties will include assisting with beverage preparation, basic food preparation, customer service, and maintaining cleanliness in line with health and safety standards. The participant will also develop communication, teamwork, and time-management skills. The placement aims to build confidence and provide practical experience to support progression to employment in the hospitality sector.Role DescriptionTraining and work experience opportunity; no prior experience in this role is necessary.Accredited and/or sector-recognised training will be provided to support your placement.Participants are eligible to participate in the WPEP QQI Work Experience Module, developed by the Education & Training Boards in collaboration with the Department of Social Protection.
