A leading Irish main contractor is seeking a Construction Buyer to join their commercial team. The role will support live projects by procuring materials and plant, ensuring cost efficiency, timely delivery, and strong supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement of construction materials and plant in line with project programmes
Placing purchase orders and managing supplier lead times
Liaising with site teams to meet delivery and specification requirements
Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships
Monitoring market pricing and availability
Maintaining accurate procurement records and cost data
Requirements
Previous experience as a Buyer within a main contractor or construction environment in Ireland (1-3 years)
Strong knowledge of construction materials and local supply chains
Good communication, negotiation, and organisational skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office and procurement systems
